Donavan Kamakani Albano is a Native Hawaiian, Ilokano, and Puerto Rican poet from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Their work appears in Poetry Northwest, Chapter House Journal, Pasefika Presence, and Kamehameha Publishing. Albano has been nominated for Best New Poets and was a finalist for the 2026 James Welch Prize for Indigenous Poets. They have received fellowships and support from Indigenous Nations Poets, Hootso, and the McCormack Writing Center. Albano holds an MA in Indigenous Politics from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
